- Has anyone heard of Askey before?
-
- I got a Quantex system in June that came with such a modem (28.8) and have
- been having problems left & right with it. First, it wouldn't train down
- to a 14.4 Gateway Telepath II on the answer end so Quantex sent me a new
- modem which fixed this. Now, the damn thing won't connect to another 28.8
- any higher than 21.6. One of 28.8s I tried is on AOLNet, the other at work
- on a SLIP server.
-
- The only thing I can tell you about this POS is that it uses an AT&T v.34
- chipset.
-
- System specs:
- Pentium 75
- 16MB RAM
- 850MB HDD
- Win95
-
- Do you think I should demand a differently manufactured modem from Quantex?
- I think they've now switched to Diamond Multimedia modems. Any pros/cons
- on this particular modem? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
-
- Pls email me at anthony.s.magner@cpmx.saic.com as I don't frequent the
- newsgroups.
